John Roy & Jinsik Yoo: Son/Sets

Headstone is proud to celebrate Pride Month with Son/Sets, a two-person exhibition showcasing the work of John Roy and Jinsik Yoo. Yoo’s stoic, statuesque figures create a precession, shifting from celestial to ritualistic – sentimental, yet forever. Roy’s paintings are quiet- eerily silent in moments- that reflect an impending crescendo that could be marvelous and devastating all at once. Queerly so, Son/Sets conjures a stage, each artist proposing a setting or character where the viewer is both spectator and gods alike. In this case, desire repels potential negotiables- dreaming without consequence.
